2007 Honda
CRF450R
This is the most extensively documented Break Neck Cycles build so far: a ground-up mechanical rebuild with premium engine, clutch, cooling, exhaust, wheel and tuning components.
More than a parts list.
The CRF450R became the bike that best represents the Break Neck approach: don't treat intake, carburetion and exhaust as isolated pieces. Changes in airflow and exhaust affect fuel requirements, heat and how the engine performs. The goal is to tune the system instead of masking a problem with a single adjustment.
The build reached deep into the motorcycle — crank, piston, bearings, seals, valvetrain, clutch, cooling, carburetor, jetting, exhaust, controls, wheels and tires. The page below documents the components we have records for and the work behind the finished machine.
